On a road trip across the country, I was fascinated by the wildlife in Alberta. I photographed this elk in mid-stride and it occurred to me that this gentle giant wasn't afraid of me and my approaching iphone. The full sized original print of the "Athabasca Glacier" spans the length of this painting while original vintage papers, canvas, ledger sheets, paint and dreamy white encaustic wax all tell tale of the history of our world. This painting is about seizing the day, living in the moment and really revelling in our time allotment in this beautiful world.
