There's something about an owl face , those huge, still eyes holding every secret the night has ever kept that stops you cold. This little panel does exactly that. A close-up owl stares out from a glowing cream moon, ringed in gold, floating against a dusty blue sky scattered with tiny embers of orange and red. It's intimate. It's a little otherworldly. And yes, you made it yourself. 🦉🌕

In Owl & Oracle, you'll work on a small rectangle encaustic panel, building up layers of warm beeswax to create a luminous, glowing moon and a richly textured background. You'll learn to safely heat and apply encaustic wax, use fusing techniques to meld your layers into something seamless and alive, and add gold gilding around the moon's edge for that warm, firelit halo effect. Scattered dot texture in the background brings the whole night sky to life, those tiny orange-red sparks that make the piece feel like it's still breathing.

The owl itself is worked in detail through guided painting or image transfer, so you'll leave with a face you're genuinely proud of — expressive, feathered, and watching.

No experience needed. At all. If you've never touched a heated tool in your life, you're in the right place. We will walk you through every step, your materials are all set up and ready when you arrive, and the only thing you need to bring is yourself (and maybe a little willingness to fall completely in love with wax). 🔥

You'll leave with a finished, frame-able encaustic panel sealed, cooled, and ready to hang or gift.
